The Alleghany Regional Jail is currently accepting applications for the positions of Jail Deputy. Applicants must be 21 years or older and be able to work a flexible schedule as needed. Performs routine protective and responsible human support services work ensuring the care and security of inmates at the Alleghany Regional Jail and does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the shift sergeant.
A High School Diploma or a GED is required for employment. The successful candidate shall be required to complete fourteen weeks of Basic Training at a training academy to maintain employment. The position is full time and benefits are available. Starting salary is $32,629.00 a year. Applications are available in the front office of the Sheriff’s Office.
